Role

Michael is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education. He teaches ICT, mathematics and creativity on the undergraduate programme, as well ICT and DT to post-graduates.

Experience

Michael recently joined the University having spent the last twenty years teaching primary children in the local area. In that time his role included responsibility for areas such as ICT, science, DT and PE and the development of E-learning. He was also a governor and member of the senior management team.

Interests

He has a special interest in the concept of personalised learning achieved through an enquiry based approach that emphasises the value of context and balances the development of knowledge, skills and understanding. He is also interested in the ways in which the use of ICT tools and resources by learners and teachers can be embedded in the curriculum to enhance all learners’ understanding of the world around them.
