Role

Julie is a Senior lecturer in Primary Education.

Experience

After completing her initial teacher training at Kesteven College of Education Julie taught for twenty three years in a variety of mainstream primary schools within the Portsmouth area. Roles included Literacy manager, Science manager, SENCO and Deputy Head. Whilst teaching she gained her B.Ed(Honours) from the University of Chichester. Julie then became part of the Hampshire Assessment and Recording of Achievement team and worked as a primary SATS moderator for the LEA. She later went on to work as a  primary Ofsted Inspector with specialism in Early Years,  External Adviser for Headteacher  Performance and Threshold Assessor. She began work at the University as a link tutor for the BA (PET), PGCE and GTP programmes and was also the course leader for the PGCE Flexible route.

Interests

Julie is particularly interested in supporting students in the area of Professional Studies. She enjoys sailing with her family in dinghies, day boats and yachts.
