Experience

Cheryl taught between 1980-1996 in a mainstream secondary school and sixth form college in the West Midlands. During this time she was also a part time senior instructor in a leisure centre co-ordinating pre-school and primary gymnastics programmes. Since 1997 Cheryl  has been a full time Senior Lecturer at the University of Chichester, lecturing on the following programmes. BA (QTS) Secondary and Primary programmes, PGCE Secondary and Primary programmes, and the Graduate Teacher Programme. 

Her academic qualifications include a B.Ed (Hons) degree in PE and English (St Paul and St Mary, Cheltenham) and a MSc in Sociology of Sport (Leicester University).

Interests

Cheryl has been involved in a number of training courses for primary teachers and trainees in Solihull and Southampton and the Wandsworth Scitt and also in a university exchange in Austria. Cheryl is an experienced netball and gymnastics coach working with both children and adults. Cheryl current research involves gender issues among Physical Education students.
