Role

Caroline is a primary mathematics lecturer teaching on both the PGCE and the BA (Hons) Primary Education and Teaching degree. She is also a primary admissions tutor.

Experience

Prior to teaching at the University of Chichester, Caroline was a classroom teacher for 12 years in local first schools (YR to Y3). For over half that time she co-ordinated mathematics in addition to history and geography. During her time at the University of Chichester she has been involved in the development of a variety of new and revised modules.

Interests

Caroline has an MA in Mathematics Education and is particularly interested in approaches to the teaching of primary mathematics, and how this is communicated with students in Initial Teacher Education. She is an active member of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics and the British Society for Research into the Learning of Mathematics.
