Completing Your Training

To qualify as a teacher you will need to complete your initial teacher training via a PGCE or GTP route.

In order to attend a MEC, you must be intending to study on an ITT route into Secondary Mathematics, and be able to secure a place before the MEC starts using the usual GTTR application process. You are advised to start the GTTR process as early as possible to avoid disappointment. If you are applying after January and want to join the following year’s January-July MEC, there is no need to delay the process of application, as acceptance onto a MEC will allow your GTTR application to be deferred by a year without extra charge or form filling.
