Admissions Criteria

stylecurve

All applicants under 21 will follow the standard entry route and will have the equivalent of two A level passes AND the equivalent of at least three passes, in subjects additional to the A levels, at GCSE grade C or above. Mathematics and English must both be included in these five subjects.

Mature applicants, 21 and over, who do not hold formal qualifications required for standard entry can complete the non-standard entry route. This route still requires the equivalence of Application of Number and of Communication at Key Skills Level 2 or above.

Successful applicants who already have credits for academic modules equivalent to any full module/s on this course may apply for entry with credit.

Other Entry Requirements

Successful applicants will be required to produce a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). The University reserves the right to terminate the registration of any student whose CRB check proves to be unsatisfactory at any point in the course.

Offers will also be conditional on successful applicants making a declaration that their physical and mental health will not affect their judgment or performance in a way that poses a risk to others. This is a requirement for registration with the General Social Care Council as a student social worker. Informing us about a health condition will not necessarily prevent applicants from being accepted on the course.
