| The Guardian University Guide 2011 published today (8th June 2010) has ranked the University of Chichester as the best modern university in the UK in two categories: satisfaction with teaching and overall student satisfaction.
The Guardian’s Guide concentrates on excellence in teaching and draws its results from the responses of final year students from 118 institutions as well considering a number of other factors. The responses have seen The Guardian rank Chichester joint 9th in the UK for satisfaction with teaching as well as joint 12th for overall student satisfaction. We also climbed 39 places in the overall League Table (making us the second biggest climber) to 42nd spot.
These results follow hot on the heels of two other recent HE industry surveys. Last month, for the second year running, Chichester was rated as one of the top modern universities in the country in both The Times Good University Guide’s and The Independent’s Complete University Guide 2011, and in both Guides we were amongst the top ten UK universities for student satisfaction.
University of Chichester Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Clive Behagg, welcomed the latest set of league table results and said: “These results confirm that there is something special about coming to study at Chichester and it’s not just us saying this, it’s our students who are saying this time and time again.
Ensuring our students get the very best experience and creating an environment where they exceed their expectations is what makes us different. Our staff work very hard to ensure that the relationship with our students is second to none and seeing results like this makes that effort worthwhile.”
