Principal Lecturer

Ian has taught for ten years in mainstream secondary schools, including schools in both rural and urban areas up and down the country. His roles have included Head of Outdoor activities, Head of year, Deputy head of sixth form, PE co-ordinator for key stage 2, 3 and 4, Year 6 class teacher in S.E.N, Further education lecturer and provider of Outdoor Activities inset with Northants LEA. Since 1994 has been a full time Senior Lecturer at Chichester. In this role he has lectured on the following courses: BA(QTS) Secondary and Primary programmes; PGCE PE programme and BA (HONS) Adventure Education programme. His academic qualifications include an Advanced diploma in Educational Management and a B.Ed (HONS) in PE, Education and Environmental Science. He has been involved in running a number of training courses for teachers in UK, America and Europe as well as Coach Education programmes for various Governing Bodies, particularly the British Canoe Union.

Ian is also an active Outdoor Educationalist and consultant in mainstream secondary physical education. He is a keen climber, having designed several climbing walls and a active all-round sportsman.
