Senior Lecturer

Since graduating from University College Chichester in 1998 with a first class BA (Hons) Physical Education, Ali researched the hydration status of pupils in PE lessons and taught in secondary schools before joining University of Chichester in 2000 as a full time senior lecturer in the School of PE. Ali’s practical specialism is in hockey (having previously played at international level and currently at national league), and co-ordinates all undergraduate and post-graduate hockey modules at the University. In addition, Ali also teachers on all undergraduate physiology modules within the BA (Hons) PE programme.

Ali has recently completed an MSc in Sports and Exercise Physiology (gained with distinction) and is currently involved in a research project in collaboration with St Richards hospital and local schools investigating the effects of exercise intervention on the management of asthma in children.

Ali also works with the AQA Advanced level examining board as a external marker and is the sports colleges and HEI co-ordinator within the School of PE, providing links with the sports colleges in the area.
