John Maiden

Born in Worcester, John Maiden took up the drums at 10 and was playing professionally with local violin virtuoso, Nigel Kennedy, by the age of 13.
After touring Australia with a blues band in 2000, he moved to Brighton (where he currently lives) and completed the Jazz and World music diploma at Chichester College with a Distinction.
Since living in Brighton john has played and recorded with various artists including Viola Wills (Barry White, Joe Cocker), Amy Whinehouse, Lemar and Dave Jordan.
Last year, he completed a European tour with electro/soul band ‘Chungking’, and a full world tour with indie rockers ‘The Wedding Present.’
His main influences are Jimmy Chamberlin, Stuart Copeland and Horacio Herdandez.
