Bridge Intercultural Arts Group

This is a weekly arts and drama group, located in Bognor Regis, aimed at exploring issues of culture and working with people of many different nationalities. More information from the International Student Adviser

Shared Interests/Shared Language

Are you looking for other students who share some of your interests or hobbies?  Or maybe you want to find some students that speak the same language as you? Whether you enjoy going to the theatre, the cinema, playing chess going for walks, dancing, visiting other cities, playing a musical instrument, cooking meals or anything else you can think of, there are probably some other students who share the same interests. You just need to find out who they are. How can you do this?

• You can let the International Student Adviser know that you are looking for students who share your interests. Give details of what you want to share, and an announcement can be placed in students’ e-mail inboxes.
• If you find that there are a lot of students who share a similar hobby, you may want to set up a Student Club or Society. The Students Union can help with this. Visit www.chisu.org. The SU have an International Student Representative who is keen to help you arrange events and societies, so this would be a good person to speak to. Students also communicate via Facebook.

Volunteering

Get involved in some volunteering opportunities. This is a good way of getting to know other students and also to gain experience. And it is fun, as well! Read more: www.chiuni.ac.uk/volunteering

Sport

If you are based in Bognor Regis, there is the Arun Leisure Centre just 10 minutes’ walk from the campus. It has an indoor pool, gym, sports halls, squash courts and many classes available. Special rates for students.

Theatre

Chichester has a famous theatre just across the road from the Bishop Otter Campus. Visit www.cft.org.uk for more details and enquire about special student reductions.

Cinema

A great choice of World and European Films can be found at Chichester’s independent cinema: www.chichestercinema.org
