Ann SchreinerI am an associate lecturer in contemporary European history. My main research interest is in contemporary British political history and international relations, particularly the relationship between political ideology and foreign affairs.

My current work focuses on the British left wing and foreign policy. I am writing up my PhD thesis: this is a study of the British Labour Party and its reaction to the break-up of Yugoslavia during the 1990s.

At Chichester, I teach a Level One module, ‘Europe in the Twentieth Century’. This is an overview course that introduces many of the ‘big themes’ which impacted on Europe over the last one hundred years.

Forthcoming publication:

  • Humanitarian Intervention, the Labour Party and the Press: the Break-up of Yugoslavia in the 1990s’ in Paul Corthorn and Jon Davis (eds.) The British Labour Party and the Wider World (London: I.B. Tauris, July 2007).
