Canon Dr Anthony Cane

Anthony Cane is Chancellor and Canon Librarian of Chichester Cathedral, with oversight of the Cathedral's Education and Visitor Services Departments. He was appointed to the board of Governors in 2009. Since ordination in 1990 he has worked as a University Chaplain, Parish Priest, and Diocesan Officer for Adult Education.

Anthony read English at the University of Cape Town, and his PhD is from the University of Birmingham. His current role includes being a school governor, a trustee of the George Bell Institute at the University of Chichester, a board member of Cathedral Enterprises Ltd, and a national Bishop's Adviser for Ordained Ministry.

Anthony is married, with three children. Having conceded that his football playing days are over, he continues to enjoy hill walking, the cinema and reading novels (as well as supporting Chelsea).

Anthony is a member of the Nominations and Effectiveness Committee.
