Accommodate the unpredictable

You will find support and help from the staff and technicians to enable you to get the most out of your experience. Fine Art will work for you when you meet the challenges you face with drive, intellectual curiosity, a sense of adventure and an ability to accommodate the unpredictable.

The Fine Art Programme

Multi-disciplinary or specialist routes in:

  • painting
  • sculpture (including ceramic, metal, wood, casting etc)
  • textiles (includes weaving, feltmaking, embroidery etc)
  • print (includes silkscreen, etching, relief print)
  • digital media (photography, video, sound, net.art, flash animation, installation & projection)

Our program of study is built around a principle of flexibility and choice.

  • Students can move between disciplines, developing a hybrid practice (i.e. for example Painting, Print and Photography OR Textiles and Sculpture).
  • Or students can focus on one discipline (i.e. specilialist painting or specialist textiles etc).

All routes can be taken full-time or part-time. Generally, part-time means taking 2 years to complete each level, so 6 years to finish the degree. It is possible to switch from part-time to full-time at key points.
