Modules

Exhibition (Single Honours and Major)
and
Visual Contextual Research and Development (Joint and Minor)
For Single Honours and Major students, the Exhibition module culminates in a final Degree Show exhibition which emulates the professional Fine Art practice and included vocational skills seen in professional exhibition contexts. For Single Honours students, this period of study is contained in a 90-credit Exhibition module, and for Majors students it's contained in a 60-credit Exhibit on module.
The final degree exhibition (not taken by Joints or Minors) is open to the public and offers students the opportunity to demonstrate professional awareness in the selection, presentation and promotion of their work.
Joint honours and Minor students take a non-exhibited 30-credit Visual contextual research and development module culminating in a portfolio presentation of work.
All students are expected to study independently on self-initiated projects within their chosen working methodologies and media preferences, negotiated and supported by tutorials, group criticisms and contextual presentations. Students have access to specialist workshops and technical support pertinent to their area of practice.
Teaching on these modules is varied:
- 1-1 tutorials - an intensive half hour tutorial with a tutor of your choice every week or so.
- Approximately 1 hour per week with your tutor group and your personal tutor, talking about your work and 'art' in general.
- Regular group crits, with small groups of students and two tutors.
Assessment is of practical work formally presented to the whole module tutor team.
