Sarah Lloyd

Associate Lecturer
Sarah has over 15 years experience as a performer, choreographer and teacher, touring throughout the UK and Europe. She has worked with choreographers Wayne McGregor, Charlie Morrissey, Karl-Jay Lewin, Laurie Booth, Emma Carlson, Alexander Baervoets (Belgium) and Stephan Koplowitz (USA). She is an experienced teacher, having worked in several higher education institutions (Universities of Brighton, Surrey, Chichester and London Studio Centre). Other educational and community work includes South Downs College (Lewes), and Inside the Artist (South East Dance initiative for schools, colleges and youth groups). In 2002, Sarah curated and co-ordinated bodyjourneys, a 2-year somatic movement programme of classes and workshops for professional dancers (supported and funded by South East Dance). Guest teachers included Kirstie Simson, K J Holmes, Bob Davidson, Gill Clarke, Fran Barbe, Thomas Kampe, Charlie Morrissey and Scott Smith.
Sarah is a qualified Sports and Remedial massage therapist and currently works from a clinic in Brighton where she is based.
Sarah teaches contact improvisation on the postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. Her classes have a grounding in somatic/body-mind approaches and emphasise presence and attentiveness as the underlying foundation for authentic partner and group work.
