Overseas Qualifications

We will consider overseas qualifications and other certified learning deemed to be equivalent to the minimum entry requirements by the UK National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC).

The University accepts school leaving certificates/university entrance qualifications from across the European Union (including the Arbitur, Diploma di Maturita, French Baccalaureate, Studentexamen, International Baccalaureate) and from around the world.

Further advice on overseas entry qualifications can be obtained from the Admissions Office on Tel: 01243 816002 or email admissions@chi.ac.uk.

Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate a satisfactory command of written and spoken English by successfully completing an approved English Language test such as IELTS at grade 6.0 overall. Applicants with IELTS 5.5 may be considered for joint subject degree combinations including International English Studies. No component (Speaking, Listening, Reading or Writing) may be less than IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent).

Non-standard Application Entry Routes

The University has an alternative entry route for applicants who have relevant skills and experience but who do not hold the formal minimum entry qualifications required by Chichester. Applicants who demonstrate the necessary skills and experience to enter a course of higher education will be asked to complete an entry task involving the completion of specially set assignments.

Applicants to courses of initial teacher training must hold the minimum GCSE requirements of passes (A to C grades) in English and Mathematics. Primary Teaching candidates must also have a GCSE level pass (A to C grade) in a science subject.

Further advice on non-standard entry to higher education courses here, can be obtained from the Admissions Office on Tel: 01243 816002 or email admissions@chi.ac.uk.
