Diploma in Practical English Teaching

The Diploma in Practical English Teaching is a fully validated Graduate Diploma providing a structure for continuing professional development for Japanese Teachers of English teaching in Japan. The Diploma in Practical English Teaching has a practical orientation and focuses on developing your competence as a professional classroom teacher of English, on improving your academic study skills and on enabling you to improve your personal proficiency in English.
The course has a practical emphasis on teaching and learning in the classroom and has been developed for the target population of Japanese teachers of English living in Japan and teaching in the state sector.
As a candidate for the Diploma in Practical English Teaching you will be following a pedagogically relevant programme which will enhance your professional teaching skills.
Furthermore one of the key aims of the programme is to enable you to improve your English language competence at the same time as gaining a professional award.
The award provides a structure for continuing professional development for teachers and the syllabus is offered as an integrated and coherent programme.
The Diploma in Practical English Teaching, which has been developed in partnership with the International Diploma Council, will enable you to progress on to an MA programme, if you are suitably qualified.
