How to Apply for a Room

To apply for accommodation at the University of Chichester you must have selected Chichester as your firm / first choice from the offers you receive.

Whilst we endeavour to meet students’ requests for particular accommodation, we cannot guarantee University-owned accommodation and if you are successful in securing a room the type of accommodation offered may not necessarily be your first choice or on your requested campus.

UK, EU and International Students

When you submit your application to study at the University of Chichester you will receive a 7 digit Student Reference Number from the Admissions Team - this will be quoted on any correspondence from the Admissions Office to you.

You will need your Student Reference Number and Date of Birth to login to the Admissions Portal on the University's website (Click here for the Admissions Portal) where you will be able to apply for University owned accommodation.

You can apply online for University-owned accommodation from 24th May 2011 until 15th June 2011.

Please note if there are problems with the Admissions Portal please try again at another point. If there is a problem on 15th June an e-mail notification for a room will be accepted and should be sent to accommodation@chi.ac.uk

International Students only

International students have 2 options when applying for University owned accommodation.Option 1, you can apply for a room as described above via the Admissions Portal, between 24th May and 15th June 2011.

Option 2, you can fill in one of our accommodation application forms. Option 2 allows you to apply (and be guaranteed a room) up until 1st August 2011.

Please note accommodation application forms must be received by the deadline of 1st August to ensure you secure a room.

What Next?

Once we have received your electronic application, accommodation will be allocated using a randomised allocation system and you will be notified by e-mail of the accommodation we have reserved for you. If you are successful in getting University-owned accommodation you will have 7 days to pay your non-refundable* £150 booking fee from the day you received your offer email. All booking fees must be paid online.

There are nine different types of accommodation:

  1. Bishop Otter Campus, En suite, Catered (37 weeks)
  2. Bishop Otter Campus, Shared Facilities, Catered (37 weeks)
  3. Bishop Otter Campus, En suite, Self Catered (37 weeks)
  4. Adjacent to Bishop Otter Campus (Havenstoke Close), Shared Facilities, Self Catered (37 weeks)
  5. Near to Bishop Otter Campus (Pinewood), Shared Facilities, Self Catered (37 weeks)
  6. Near to Bishop Otter Campus (Graylingwell Drive) Ensuite or Shared Facilities, Self Catered (37 weeks)
  7. Bognor Regis Campus, En suite, Catered (37 or 40 weeks)
  8. Bognor Regis Campus, Shared Facilities, Catered (37 or 40 weeks)
  9. Bognor Regis Campus, Twin Room, Shared Facilities, Catered (37 weeks)

You will be asked to indicate the type of accommodation you would be happy to accept at University of Chichester in order of preference.

Whilst we endeavour to meet students’ requests for particular accommodation, we cannot guarantee University-owned accommodation and if you are successful in securing a room the type of accommodation offered may not necessarily be your first choice or on your requested campus.

Once you have submitted your application you will be sent an email to confirm that we have received your application. We would therefore be grateful if you would refrain from ringing to check that we have received it. We will process all applications, allocate rooms and send you a confirmation e-mail, including arrival details, before 1 August 2011. Once you have received written confirmation from us you will have 7 days to pay your non-refundable* £150 booking fee online.

*Should you decide not to take up your room, you will not be entitled to a refund of your booking fee. If you fail to achieve the grades necessary for entrance to University of Chichester your £150 booking fee will be refunded. All cancellations must be made in writing by post to the Accommodation Office or by email to accommodation@chi.ac.uk
