BA (Hons) Tourism Management - Three Year Programme

Tourism Management can be taken at degree level full-time over three years leading to BA (Hons) Tourism Management. You will study a broad-based curriculum that builds upon a number of key subject area themes that are revisited as the programme develops. The areas of sustainability, marketing, quality management, and destination management are developed through the various levels in a coherent manner that reinforces the overall structure of the programme. A further feature of the programme is the inclusion of a work placement, which gives you an opportunity to put the skills and knowledge you have learned into practice. The work placement lasts for the course of one semester and commences in semester two of your second year. There are many benefits to work placement for both students and employers.

BA (Hons) Tourism Management (Professional Placement) - Four Year Programme

Tourism Management can also be taken at degree level full-time over four years leading to BA (Hons) Tourism Management - Professional Placement. This route provides an opportunity for you to undertake a 48-week paid work placement in the third year of your studies. Whilst there is no academic credit accumulation associated with the work placement, the student will be awarded the ‘Industrial Placement – Award of Competence’ on successful completion. The work placement allows you the opportunity to experience the world of work over an extended period, and to develop further skills that are likely to enhance your employability at the end of your programme of study.
